Individual Roman Legions

We thought that we would give you an update on our progress with the individual legions project.

We have compiled histories of about 14 of the legions so far but we have found ourselves delving down a rabbit hole by wanting to explore who actually served in each legion and the real impact of each legion on the Roman Empire. And so we have decided to pause on the rest of the legions until we have gone back through the legions already finished and add our new dimension.

Obviously this is going to be a more long term project than we had first anticipated, so please bear with us!

The legions with compiled histories so far can be seen on the Imperial Roman Legion page: https://digitalmapsoftheancientworld.com/ancient-history/history-ancient-rome/the-roman-army/the-imperial-roman-legion/

Our first fully complete legion is Legio XXI Rapax: https://digitalmapsoftheancientworld.com/ancient-history/history-ancient-rome/the-roman-army/the-imperial-roman-legion/legio-xxi-rapax/

We will post an update each time a new legion has been completed.

We hope you enjoy!
