Titii
The Titii were a college of priests in ancient Rome, dedicated to preserving the traditions and rituals of the Titienses, one of the three original tribes of Rome.

There are two main accounts of the Titii’s establishment:
- Titus Tatius: According to one account, Titus Tatius, a Sabine king who joined forces with Romulus, created the Titii to oversee and protect the Titienses tribe.
- Romulus: Another account suggests that Romulus, the first king of Rome, established the Titii in honor of Titus Tatius, who was deified after his death.
During the Roman Republic, the Titii‘s role gradually declined as the cults of all Italic tribes were integrated into Roman religion. However, the Titii were revived under the Empire and took on new functions. They were now responsible for conducting the worship of an emperor, similar to the Sodales Augustales.
