Rosmerta
Rosmerta, the captivating Celtic goddess of fertility and abundance, embodied prosperity in all its forms. Depictions portray her cradling a cornucopia, a horn overflowing with bounty, symbolizing her role in ensuring plentiful harvests and a thriving community.

Interestingly, Rosmerta wasn’t always alone. In some artistic representations, she appears alongside the Roman god Mercury, known for commerce and travel. This partnership hints at a well-rounded concept of prosperity, where Rosmerta blessed the land’s bounty, and Mercury oversaw its distribution and exchange.

While sometimes depicted with a consort, Rosmerta was also revered independently. Evidence of her worship comes from no less than twenty-seven inscriptions scattered across France, Germany, and Luxembourg. These inscriptions are concentrated in the Roman provinces of Gallia Belgica and Germania Superior, highlighting her significance in those regions. Surprisingly, two additional inscriptions dedicated to Rosmerta have even been found far east in Roman Dacia, suggesting a wider reach for her cult within the Roman Empire.
