Flora was the goddess of flowers and the very embodiment of spring itself. Her presence heralded the explosion of color and life that followed the harsh winter. From delicate blossoms to vibrant meadows, Flora presided over all things floral.

Though overshadowed by other fertility goddesses in the Roman pantheon, Flora bloomed in importance during springtime. Her association with both flowers and youthful renewal made her a natural symbol of the season’s rejuvenation.
