Erebus

Erebus the god and embodiment of darkness. Born at the very dawn of creation, even before the first gods, Erebus personified the inky blackness that existed before light. He was a primordial force, as essential to the universe as the sun itself, for without darkness, there could be no light.

His swirling mists, like a celestial cloak, encircled the world, filling the earth’s caverns with an inky embrace. Each evening, a cosmic dance unfolded. Nyx, his wife and the goddess of night, would call upon his essence. As she rose, Erebus’ darkness would stretch across the sky, a vast curtain descending upon the world, heralding the arrival of night. Then, at dawn, their daughter Hemera, the goddess of day, would scatter the darkness with her golden fingers, painting the canvas of the sky with the hues of morning, in an eternal celestial ballet.
